In skin prick test, doctor injects a small amount of concentrated down serum under the skin of patient using a needle or pin. If the patient suffer from allergy, rash will appear on that area. Usually skin test is done on the back of the patient. Radioallergosorbent test is conducted to identify the presence of allergy-causing immunoglobulin E (IgE) in the blood stream.

People who are allergic to feather do not need to avoid eggs or meat from chicken or any other birds. Those who suffer from feather allergy may not be allergic to other bird’s by-products. The allergy is mostly developed due to the dust mites. Allergy test is helpful to confirm the real reason of your allergy.
Tips to prevent feather allergy
The best way to prevent any allergy is to avoid the products that contain the allergy-causing element. If you feel, you have an allergy to feathers, stop using or storing any items that use feathers such as comforters, pillows, bedding, bags etc. Bedroom is the area where we spend most of our time in home. So, try to avoid all such items in your bedroom if you have feather allergy. Pillow covers can prevent the pillows from dust mites, pet dander and mold and keep you free from allergy. Washing feather pillows frequently is also good to kill the allergy-causing particles on them.
If you are allergic to feather, do not buy any type of bird as pet, even though you like them very much. Feathers that have been washed and treated is comparatively less allergic. Do not pick any feathers found on the ground and do not touch any dead bird as it may lead to the transfer of disease and other health problems. Keep bird cages clean and wash your hands after cleaning.
